Bruno Moro - UNDP, Resident Coordinator *

Bruno MoroBruno Moro, an Italian citizen, is Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Colombia and the Resident Representative of the UNDP (United Nation’s Development Programme in the country. With more than 20 years of experience at the UNDP, before arriving to Colombia, Mr. Moro completed assignments in Mexico, Kenya, Uganda, El Salvador and Cuba. Likewise, he has achieved high positions at the UNDP’s Regional Direction for Latin America and the Caribbean in New York, where he was Head of the Latin American Division, being responsible for the coordination, control and support of programs and the implementation of corporate policies for the 20 continental offices.

Among the main challenges faced during his career, is his role on behalf of the Secretary General in the El Salvador Peace Accords, as well as the support for its implementation, the strengthening of new institutions and the reinsertion programs for ex-combatants. He also was the coordinator of UN in response to disasters such as Hurricane Mitch in Central America and hurricanes affecting Cuba during recent years.

Mr. Moro has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA, and a Master’s Degree in International Relations and International Economy of the School of International Policy Affairs from the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Florence, Italy. He graduated in Political Science from the University of Padua, Italy.
