Dave Larson is an independent consultant based in Portland, OR.
Since starting his work life in commercial banking, Mr. Larson has served in international relief and development for 23 years,including extended field service in Mozambique, Rwanda, and Brazil. He has worked, lived, or traveled inmore than 100 countries, and has taught at Wheaton College, Southern New HampshireUniversity, and the University of the North (South Africa). He has consulted with more than twentyNGOs, government agencies, foundations, networks, churches, and UN bodies. His writings include a technical briefsseries on "Microfinance in Post-Conflict Settings" for USAID'sMicroenterprise Best Practices Project and a training manual on the samesubject for the ILO and the UNHCR. His areas of special interest include social enterprise, program design,training, and monitoring and evaluation. He enjoys especially the challenges of bridging the disparateworlds of microfinance and relief when applying microfinance to conflictsettings.
